The newly opened Fashion History Museum in Cambridge, ON is hosting the perfect way to while away dark fall evenings – a series of fashion films shown every Friday at 6.30pm.

 

Vogues of 1938 (1937), showing October 18

Classic Hollywood comedy about a wealthy debutante, played by Joan Bennett, who runs away from a society wedding to become a high-fashion model. 1 hour 48 minutes

 

 

Pret-a-Porter (1994), showing October 11

This Character driven ensemble comedy is about the various designers, models, reporters and editors at the spring 1994 Paris fashion shows.  PG – nudity and language. 2 hours 13 minutes

 

 

Mrs. ‘Arris goes to Paris (1992), showing October 25

In 1957 London, a charwoman, played by Angela Lansbury, saves her money to buy a couture Dior gown. 1 hour 29 minutes

 

Kinky Boots (2005), showing November 1

A drag queen comes to the rescue of a failing Northampton shoe factory by convincing the owner to diversify by making kinky boots. PG – some suggestive scenes. 1 hour 47 minutes
