The latest textile arts exhibition has recently opened at the Gladstone Hotel, 1214 Queen Street West.  Hard Twist – This is Personal unwraps a new incarnation of the Gladstone Hotel’s signature exhibition of textile-based art. Initially mounted as a one-off to coincide with the 2006 Textile Society of America Symposium at Harbourfront Centre, Hard Twist was an immediate hit and the Gladstone decided to make it an annual exhibition.   There’s a new exhibition at the Fashion History Museum in Cambridge, ON.  MODe: Fashion in the 1960s explore the revolutionary and youthful fashions of a decade.  There will be a special viewing of the exhibition December 5 between 5-8pm.  Curator, Jonathan Walford, will be available to sign copies of his latest book ‘Sixties Fashion: From ‘Less is More’ to Youthquake’. The Cathedral Church of St James will be hosting an exhibition exploring the artistry of ecclesiastical embroidery Friday, October 25 to Friday, November 1, 2013. Over 100 items have been gathered in celebration of the importance of embroidery and textile art in the creation of beauty and holiness in houses of worship of many faiths.
