Winter is the time to take a break and have fun.  The exhibit Winter Sports, featuring 20th century winter sports clothes and accessories, is on loan from the Fashion History Museum.   Fashionable winter attire for skiing, snowshoeing, skating and tobogganing are matched with images and accessories.
Winter Sports, a presentation in conjunction with Ball’s Falls Conservation Area, is an illustrated talk focusing on sports costume history by Rita Brown.  Ms. Brown was the senior cutter of women’s costume at Shaw Festival and is a long time freelance textile conservator.  Drawing from her extensive career in theatre and her knowledge of costume history, she has embarked on a book project focusing on Sports Fashion, a topic which has interested her for years.  She will be presenting some of her research and insights into our sporting world in conjunction with the temporary exhibit Winter Sports: 1900-1950.
There will be a refreshment break with time to visit the exhibit and then reconvene for a question and answer period with Ms. Brown.

To purchase tickets, please call:  Nicci Hingley at 905-562-5235, ext. 26
Please RSVP by December 5
